Bingfield Park
Public Park
Acting in both design and project management roles we were able to forge a partnership between Islington Council ‘Greenspace’ Division and Crumbles Castle Adventure Playground which led to the regeneration of this public park.
Public consultation and urban studies informed the design concept which created an improved and safer public space, through the provision of amenities as well as the creation of a vibrant ‘town square’ for the use by local residents. This regeneration, along with other initiatives, has begun to positively change social behaviour in the area. Close involvement of the community led to the incorporation of local youth artwork into the fence design reducing vulnerability to vandalism through ‘ownership’.
- Vibrant activity space is informal encouraging a variety of events.
- Materials used in a modern way created a link with the Castle and Adventure playground.
- Bright red anti-scooter gates also signal pedestrian points of entry.
